What transmitter? Sounds like one to avoid. the ebay junk one I had and sold seemed pretty harmonic free, but I have no idea how genuine its "7 watts" was
Yes I think you know the transmitter, it works very well apart from the harmonics, and when it was hooked up to the radio Inspectors gear it was well within the legal limits until it was driven a bit harder from the mixer. Manufacture claims 7 watt, Im not sure what model they are copied from, but I am thinking of upgrading to one with input level managment.
I thought I was getting 4 watts when first hooked up, using about 16 volts and it dropped to about 2 using 12 volt. Crept down to 1 watt when I put the cavity filter on, so I opened it up for a play, and brought it back up to about 1.5, thats on the SWR meter. I dont know how the voltage would have made a difference as there seems to be a 5 volt regulater in them. The finished sound seems OK now we monitor off air all the time,, and have volt meter SWR and Power meter hooked up all the time.
