dukester: Great idea. Allready testing/using it now. It allways annoyed me I couldn't set the default view for Trademe showing latest listings. Through your website I now can.

Yes! That's something I forgot to mention. Choose the default sort order once, and keep it that way... something sorely missing from the Trademe site.
Also, all pictures are displayed, regardless of whether people have paid or not.
Let me know if you have any other suggestions/ideas...

Possibly a smaill glitch. I have the default area set to the area I am in. If I change it to NZ and press search, I still only get listings from my area. I do not get any NZ wide listings.!!

Biding on Trademe is a joke.

Unlike Ebay, TM works solely in the sellers favour and screws the buyer in the process.

Any 'pretend' late bid programme on TM will never work for the buyer - they will just keep extending and stretching out the 'close' time - all in the seller's favour.

TM is a con.

That's how an auction works, how is that a con?

You're right, that was an oversight -- you could choose any area but not the whole of NZ. I've just fixed it now, try again.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a con, but continuously extending the end time of an auction in this way does drag out the closing stage, and it may encourage others to join in. That's why the default bidding strategy is set to fast, though it's up to you to decide which method works better for you. I'd be interested to know, in fact...

Actually that is one way in which TM acts more like an auction site than eBay. In a real auction it keeps extending if people want to keep bidding - which certainly can be frustration from a Buyers perspective. But eBay goes to the complete other extreme and seems to operate more for the Buyer than the Seller! Sniping is rife on eBay. I'm sorry, but to my thinking it is the Sellers who are the bread and butter of those sites.

I was merely trying to point out that from a buyers point of view, Epay wins hands down.

Now if i was a seller.................

Yeah, I know - it is really interesting how different sites put the emphasis in different places.

I'm glad you like it -- any delays in returning pages are invariably due to waiting for the data from Trademe, BidBud is basically a proxy server after all!

I really like what you've done with this site. The best thing so far is the negative feedback tab.

Luck and keep up the great work!

Thanks for this service. I've won two auctions already and lost one (outbidded my max bid) under a group bidding. Also, I think slow bid made me won my last auction.

Question, for items where I'm still deciding if I'm really interested in it or not, why can't I add it to my watchlist without putting a bid? I don't want to put a bid on it in cause I may forget about it and end up winning the auction.
