We have cancelled our VFX last week. I disconnected the handset November. We missed two calls in November and one call in December. Parents-in-law still use VFX.

I am interested in seeing how it works (also thinking of using for parents-in-law replacing copper since they're low usage and don't want VFX anymore - like us).

Does anyone know if services such as dns4me will work with Skinny broadband?

As I understand it dns4me requires your IP address to identify you and since this product is behind CG-NAT would dns4me still work?

Its extremely unlikely that a service line dns4me would work behind any CGNAT service.

VOIP will work if you can use a sip proxy (like 2talk can).

That was my suspicion but I wanted to confirm.

I did find some chatter about getflix and 4G but the article suggests using a VPN approach is required because you cant change the DNS entries for a (ipad) 4G connection - but surely on a router like the Skinny broadband router you could change the DNS hosts?

After 10 years of total rip off mobile broadband, finally an alternative from Skinny mobile which is affordable and with more data than I'll ever need.

I get a strong 4G (band 28) spark signal on my iphone 6 at our beach house on tanners point road, Katikati.

Yet the "are we in your area " map says skinny is unavailable in my area :(

This from dns4me;

I would recommend against using a CG-NAT service your basically on a shared ip and with most CG-NAT providers your ip will change very rapidly this causes a lot of issues as we authenticate you and your settings via your IP address.

For me at the end of this month I'm going to reset the 'bandwidth counter' on my router to see where I actually stand because I have a feeling that even with the YouTube I'm watching I don't get close to the 60GB limit but then again I might surprise myself and find that isn't the case.

Got home now and installed the router. Thanks Skinny for providing this for a couple of weeks testing it.

Very easy, the UI is uncomplicated, firewall available, WiFi management including MAC filtering, gigabit ports for wired network. Here in Johnsonville at my address currently have 3/5 bars and speedtest still shows 42 Mbps down/17 Mbps up

i am on RBI with 80GB
i had to give up light box
on HD it is easy to go through 10 GBs a day

Can somebody provide any evidence of online gaming on skinny broadband? I think the latency is good, but I'm afraid the network will get congested easily, so the online gaming latency and speed will not be consistent and stable. I will give this a try some time next week.
