Hi There!

Can someone recommend me a residential electrician who is good value, reliable, tidy and experienced?

I need a quote to put some lighting in our stairwell (In the stairs themselves).

Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.

I would highly recommend Williams Electrical (Gareth). Just had them do a complete rewire of the place and am very pleased with the result. Had some great solutions that I had not thought of and even some future proofing.

I recommend BPM Electrical Ltd (Brandon). Had him to lots of things around my house, outdoor spa PP, helped me wire up in wall speakers, cat6 throughout house, door bell, lights etc.

What sort of lighting are you putting in? LED stair strips?

Not strip lighting, just a LED pointing straight out every third step, attached to a sensor that operates 5pm to 7am so make getting down the stairs easier.

Altrenate step lighting always looks pretty average IMO, go for gold and light each step.

Well I am utterly disappointed honestly. I contacted him, he didn't call me back, I followed up, he apologized. We made a time for him to contact my wife sent all the details and he assured me he would contact us yesterday and come and do a quote. We need the work completed this week. Didn't contact us, no courtesy at all.

It's left us with next to no chance of completing this project.

I can't understand why some trades people lack basic courtesy and professionalism. I couldn't imagine treating my customers like this!

That's a real bummer - people don't seem to get that is easy to build up a bad rep and hard as hell to fix it, and people will quickly complain about bad experiences but hardly ever about the good (unless it's exceptional).

Anyways - try Mr. Walker Electrical, I have used them about 3-4 times for various things and they have always been excellent.
