Is it easy to control the temperature on the Hot Water Cylinder? I believe mine is set to hotter than required and might be causing slightly higher than usual electricity usage. Water coming out of the shower and taps is very hot on the hottest setting. It's a fairly modern Rheem mains pressure cylinder. I can see a red valve but it seems to be locked. Can put some pictures later on. Thanks
There should be a small philips head screw you can turn to vary the temperature. It might be hidden behind a steel cover plate screwed onto the outside of the cylinder.
The minimum the HWC can be set to is 60deg, and the hottest it can be coming out the tap is 55, so be aware of those temperatures. Your cylinder will have a tempering valve that controls the temperature to the hot tap, this should be able to be adjusted to lower your temp.

The cold temperatures will be causing higher than usual usage. When water is cold more energy is required to heat it.
But if there is a major or minor fault, fiddling with settings will just mask the issue.
Better to have a plumber check the system function if you think there is an issue.
