We are in the unfortunate situation of needing to rectify a cross lease (long story).

Has anyone done one in Auckland and have they got any recommendations for a surveyor and / or solicitor? It's not going to be cheap but obviously I'd like to get to get it done as cheaply and painlessly as I can.

We got a proposal from our neighbour who was selling in Feb 2015 as he wanted to maximize his sale price, he ended up selling quickly so we didn't actually go ahead and do it but was looking to be at least $18k + GST eg:

- Design (Topo Survey, Engineering Report inc flood assessment, Scheme plan): ~$4k
- Consent (Sub div consent app): ~$4k
- Land Transfer Survey: ~$5k
- ~$200-250/hr for any additional consulting, responses to section 92, review of consent conditions, admin, coordinating with stakeholders
- Council Fees and "Deposits": ~$6k

This is in Auckland btw.

Pricing is looking more like$15k-$17k at the moment but yeah.

My mother got it done for 8K, but that was with the neighbor giving her the land for nothing, in exchange for her picking up the tab.

I actually mis-read the original post, my post was conversion to freehold.. if you just want to rectify/update an existing cross lease it should be cheaper than a conversion.

Hello $40,000+ when it comes to sell. Freehold sells for a premium (especially Auckland)
