I want to run a cat6 and tv cables,

But am so limited for roof space and the next best way is down and existing Cat6 run from the roof then horizontally along an existing power supply for about 1600mm,

Will this interfere in anyway of the Cat6 and Tv signals? bearing in mind they will only share for a very short run.

yes, you may get interference, its not recommended to do it at all

How close to it? Other side of a stud is generally fine, bundled up with it is frowned upon. I have some that are stupidly close for about a meter, and no interference except when the plug into the tv is connected and it sparks a little, then it made dvb-t reception on the other tvs glitch, but normal operation is fine.

I was planing to run the Cat6 and RG6 through the same horizontal as the power cable for the last 1600mm

I have been updating a recent house purchase, all others are separated by studs,

Where I want it run it vertically there is an existing hole in the top plate only , but very limited roof space to carry on boring down, eg not enough room for a drill and extensions

I'm guessing that you don't want to cut thru the gib in the room below to drill some holes?

Tip: if trying to drill a hole in an extremely limited space, you can use an auger bit and attach a socket set ratchet handle to it. I've used this successfully in some places that were too tight to attach the drill onto the bit.

I would prefer to run from above, have done a few and only went through the wall once due to hitting a metal brace. ops

I have a bit and some extensions just not enough room, bit might not work well enough doing by hand. maybe I'll have another look tomorrow nite

I've found that once an auger bit grabs into the wood, it will go thru wood without a problem, even if you have to resort to using a ratchet handle to turn it. Obviously it's slow going, but it will work as a last resort.

augers are ok till the very end bit when the screw no longer has wood to pull on, then you have to put a bit of weight onto them. Dont try to use a right angle chuck on them, too much torque for those things to survive ;)

Depending on where you're starting from, a flexible or cable bit might be helpful. I've had some good luck with these. And only left about a metre broken off in the wall once.

luckily the top plate has been done already, almost like ,

will run a drop down here then changed their mind , i did try to feel if it went through the nogs but alas no such luck.

There's a trick where you drill two holes in the top plate side by side. One for shining the light through and taking a look whilst you position the drill on an extension length...
