Strange wire in roof space

Whilst up in the roof space of a 1940-50 ish house, I have come across a strange zig zag run of bare twisted wire between the gables, it is insulated just like an electric fence is, any idea what it could be?

Could be an old radio aerial wire. Do you have an unusual plug in the living room?

Agree, probably radio aerial. Wall plug may have an external twist knob to connect aerial wire from a radio.

The wall plate if it is still there will have 2 terminals, the aerial wire and an earth.

It's to power "their" listening devices and hidden cameras. Put everything back how it was and carry on like you know nothing.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

I can not upload the picture as it fails every time, any way think it could be a radio wire as there is a faceplate with Aerail at the top and earth at the bottom, cheers for the help.
