We've got a 2 yo house, and we've noticed that since this summer there is water leaking from an outside well when we have the a/c on.

I've asked the builder, he says it's normal.

One important fact: I've put a screw in this wall at ~1.5m height to hang a plant. The builder says it's not possible that I've screwed through the drain pipe, but it's a bit coincidental...

What should we do? Should we screw the wall plates of to check for leakage? Or just leave as is?

You must find out why it's leaking or it will cause very significant damage to the building.

It will almost certainly be the condensation drain from the indoor unit, but it shouldn't just seep out of a wall like that - it should be piped out of the building somewhere. The pipe could be penetrated with a screw, or it could have a bad join or similar as well.

Either way, don't leave it.

No it’s not normal. Call in an aircon expert, not a builder.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Another possibility, there is condensation forming on a poorly insulated refrigerant pipe between the indoor and outdoor units.

Either way, it needs to be fixed.

My isnt and recently had water coming down the internal wall, anyway short story was the condensate pump had failed due to the heat in the roof space, so the condensate made just couldn't get away and ran down the wall, mine was a Aspen brand, orange in colour
