I'm after some blinds for our living area, we've got 3 large 1.5 x 2.1m windows street-facing, but there is a reasonable harbour view also that we'd like to maintain if possible.

I see these advertised as allowing one-way visibility: https://www.kresta.co.nz/custom-made-blinds/roller-blinds/sheerview-roller-blinds/

However the likes of Bunnings/Spotlight (in Chch) have much cheaper offerings.

Does anybody have any experience with some of the cheaper products and know if there are any that provide this kind of functionality?

We got some roller blinds from online blinds, and we can see out through them (not like it is clear as day, but we can see), but can't see in.

During daytime.

At night, with lights on in the house, it would be possible to see in, but you'd have to have really bright lights, or be right at the window to see through.

From memory they were called sunscreen blinds. (Roller blinds).

EDIT: They were Sunscreen Blinds - 2%. The webpage warns that people will be able to see in at night, which they could, but not from a distance (not like having just windows).

I like the roller sunscreen blinds because you can see out pretty well but still have privacy and sun protection.

If the sun is directly on the window you won’t see much out through the blind though because of glare.
