Can anyone point me to some instructions as to how to make a manual bed crank? I searched online but always gets results for the full medical bed. My father has been bed-bound for a number of months now and my mother is starting to have difficulty lifting him when it is time to eat. While I am happy that my father have started to get his appetite back and gain weight. I would like to help my mother out in any way I can to look after my father. My parents are overseas but since I am visiting them soon, I thought I'd research now on option to raise his bed manually. I was thinking of adding a 1/2 inch thick ply board under the upper half of the matters and add some manual crank. But am having difficulty on looking for parts or what they are actually called. One other option I can think of is similar to a standing desk that would be placed under the bed with a swivel to cater for the change in angle. Any other recommendation welcome.
