How easy is to remove a heat pump wall unit on a temporary basis?

 

We need to take it down for a week so that the crappy 1980s wallpaper on that wall disappear.

I recently asked how much it would cost to move an outdoor unit for a week. From memory they said about $500. I imagine indoor will be similar or maybe more expensive, they have to pump it down, remove it, then put it back and pump it back up.

Parents just did this. We just turned the power off to it (at the switch board), took all plastic covers off, and then cut the wall paper back as far as possible. With the plastic covers back on it's all covered up.

In Dunedin, I had my outdoor unit disconnected/reconnected while building a deck

 

Cost $250 for the move and everything being cleaned/inspected
