Hi, looking to carpet a home for the first time and was hoping for comments from geekzoners who installed (or considered) carpet made from Triexta (may have been marketed as Smartstrand and Rhino carpet).
Key considerations for me are stain resistance and how it will look after 9 years compared to Nylon

One shop reckoned solution dyed nylon was more strain resistant (and had a 20 year guarantee) another reckoned Triexta

Have you seen much of a price difference? I need to look at some options for carpet update in a few rooms shortly and one area will be around the dining table.

That's difficult because different chains recommend and discount different brands
Some of them seem like they might be talking bullsh*t about why xyz carpet is better too which is why I asked for help here!

We did our research (including pricing) and went with Rhino Carpet for our house around 8 months ago.

So far pretty pleased with it.

We went one down from the top of the line (Rhino Portland) and chose this simply because the colour choices were right for us and the 25 year warranty was a good fit for us with two young teens in the house.

Wasn't the cheapest option but we are happy.

I do wonder what percentage of people are actually in the same house 25 years later... but good piece of mind regardless.
Is your warranty all inclusive including removal of faulty carpet and installation of replacement carpet?

I like loop pile wool carpet but with pets with their claws and fur ball chunder it's not really an option so we're looking at cut pile hard twist solution dyed nylon.
Found a color we like at Carpet Mill in either 5 (40oz) or 7kg (56oz) weight. Now trying to agree the right balance between plush feel and longevity.
We also quite like Cavalier Bremworth carpets but they are much more expensive if not on sale.

That's a great question and one I didn't really look into - I know it's replacement for anything including UV damage, stains etc but hadn't actually looked into whether that covers the installation, removal etc

Warranty details here:
