So according to Flick's latest promo - An average 3-hours of power that you use across the day is credited back to you, every single day. You'll see this credit in each bill.

Everyone knows ElectricKiwi's Hour of Power.

Wondering if the Flick is now looking slightly better considering less restrictive bit of a hassle to do everything in 1hr.

Thoughts?

The average will include night time and peak so I wonder how that would compare. I guess 3/24 is 12.5 percent saving on average. My savings on electric Kiwi vary between 15% on cold winter days when we run heating all day and 30% on warm summer days.

In my free hour I have timers running hot water, two heat pumps, dishwasher, sometimes the clothes dryer.

The only reference I can find to 3 hours free is the old Earnie plan, which they have discontinued for new customers as of 20 July 2020.

Yea I have heatpump that I turn on remotely on my phone but other than that nothing else is really automated and it's the case of if I'm working from home and put an effort into it I'll get 20%-25% on a good day.

Strange because I didn't get that popup earlier but refreshed the page and got a popup saying it is no longer available as of yesterday. I only knew of it because it was on the radio couple of days ago!

Hey - this topic has been beaten to death now by your other threads.

- Flick is a 3hr average (as in usage / 24 * 21).
- EK is an offpeak hour you specify.

Earnie had massive problems as I've explained where their billing system couldn't successfully work out the free usage and customers (like myself) were left overcharged. It is good they removed it, I must have not been the only one with the complaint here.

But we really don't need yet another comparison thread. The answers are all common sense really. Basically pick a provider and run with it. Both Flick and EK don't have contracts.
