Hi,

I think my taps are beyond "re-seating"... (see photos)

We have a 3 hole basin but only two are used (the centre is a handwash dispenser to which we dont use because its too old / doesnt pump well)

Thinking about replacing them with these or similar...will it be suitable?  (im not good a plumbing) :-)

These usually have a manifold that needs to be trimmed to suit the spacing between taps and spout. It will be a very difficult job up in behind the basin. This is one of those jobs to pay a plumber to do if your not confident with your skills.

What's your water pressure like? Mixers can have problems that don't occur with separate taps if the cold can overpower the hot supply.

Hey

Intention is to use the plumber !
Just need to sort the hardware (or get them to suss it given there’s a lot of stock issues).

Pressure…. I believe unequal. I.e. turn on hot….. then turn on cold and the pressure drops slightly.

Recently the level of chorline has been dramatically reduced as local pump stations have been upgraded with well heads brought above ground…. With this work completed our overall pressure has increased too

Overall… if I can do the donkey work for the prospective plumber (yet to book one), it’s a win win….time and cash!

Just my two cents but if it were my bathroom I would just replace the two taps with two new ones and forget about a mixer so the issue of pressure differences does not come into play.

Then fill the middle hole with something like this

We were going to replace a similar setup with almost identical taps to what you linked.

It was a bit harder than I thought it'd be and was well beyond my abilities - so calling a plumber after procrastinating for about 12 months, it turns out the taps aren't compatible without serious modification - we are going to do a whole bathroom instead (everything needs replacing anyway).

My advice - get the plumber in first - then get the tapware.

If you are really going to do it yourself get ones of these

I had a plumber around recently to replace taps very similar to what the OP has (I used an existing tap I had removed from another sink so it was the same style) and he was surprised I had one of these lying around which saved him having to go back to his truck and find his one :-)

But agree - better to get a plumber and avoid all these hassles.

Thanks all.

All good oil.

I’ve got the spec sheet for the set I’m keen on…
Just need to see if it will work before ordering them then engaging the plumber!
