Hah fair enough.

Installed near East Auckland with Planet Electrical.

Paid about 30,000, 1/3rd was just the battery.

SigEnergy system with a gateway, Trina Vertex S+ solar panels 440W.

That sounds a lil rough mate - I understand wholesale cost of the newer SigenStor BAT 10.0 is just under $5K +GST (to your installer)

Out of interest, why'd you go for the Gateway? In a spotty supply area?

I figured I might aswell have the gateway since I plan to get more batteries in the future.

And yeah, not that the supply is spotty, more like whenever it rains drivers magnetize to the pole delivering power. Last time somehow hit the transformer outside when it was raining particularly bad and knocked out power for the street pretty much.

Ive just been around an got multiple quotes for an install based in Auckland,

The winning one looks like :

12.2kw of Jinko panels

SigEnenergy 10kw Inverter

SigenStor 10 SP Battery

Just under $28k

Looks like a good offer? Ive been to about 5 different vendors so far and they were the best in terms of price and quality.

Wow, I was just quoted $6,442.95 +gst for one of the those new batteries. (Not including labour, travel etc, just the battery)

That's a nice mark-up for the installer.

I imagine it was 10k due to gateway + battery maybe? Without either it was around 20k.

That’s a good price. I’m very similar in Chch, I also shopped around and this was the best deal for me:

  • 12.6kW 450W AESolar panels
  • 10kWh Sigenergy battery
  • Sigenergy SP gateway
  • 10kW Sigenergy SP inverter

$28k including install

Provided roof area (and shading), oh and budget, allows would suggest more panels. Winter production will be significantly less than max. Not to mention (increasingly?) cloudy / precipitous summer days. Sigenstor EC can accept 200% PV

Seems reasonable prices. But who wants to be a Guinea pig and report back on the tradedepot experience? They have a Akl and Chc stores.

10kWp panels Canadian Solar (22x460W)
10kW inverter
20kWh battery
26K installed

"The installation price of $6000 is an estimate only, and a site visit may be required to determine the final quote."

More or less, that one is the 1 phase inverter.  The 3 phase is $500 more https://tradedepot.co.nz/22-panel-home-solar-system-10kw-inverter-20kwh-battery/

Though that means they are adding 8K for the install.  Probably cut-n-paste the 6K allowance as they have the same text on smaller systems.
