Thanks guys, at we have an old version as AS/NZS 3000 which says you do not have to fix wiring if it is a multicore on an RCD. But I was surprised the cables are loose in the ceiling, sounds like a trip hazard near the opening.
At work we do not install wiring, but we do write manuals for installing electric fences which is why we have the standard for broad reference but not keeping up to date.
The phone line goes to one point, which is my network/phone hub. Running XNet VFX over a naked line, and naturally the electrician did not know what I was talking about. Why run the phone line to a wardrobe and then run an isolated cable from the wardrobe to the living space...
I've installed the network cables myself. Most are away from mains, but there might be the odd place where they run parallel instead of crossing. It is shielded CAT6, but still. Don't want to chase up the electrician and then my wiring is also wrong.
The electrician's certificate has the wrong number of lights listed so I want them to re-issue it anyway, otherwise if there is an insurance claim then they can argue we added fittings (which we did not). Same for the drain layer, the "as built" plan was drawn 2 months before the last bit of drain was complete! Sorry, just ranting about the building industry.
