Ok I've spent more time looking into this, and I've changed my ideas.

I've found some nice LED downlights from Philips which I'm told are bathroom rated, you can insulate over, and have a nice 90 degree beam angle. They're not dimmable though, a dimmable version's coming in a month or two... slightly too late for me probably.

I have a room 4.5m x 2.5m, with a 1mx1m window. I'll put in 5 LED downlights (80W equivalent I think), plus three lights around the bathroom mirror, and an LED strip under the vanity, separately switched. I want to be able to turn the ceiling lights down if we find them a bit much sometimes, but we want a nice bright room most of the time.

Does anyone know a dimmable LED bathroom rated downlight?
