What about just taking a fewv screenshots of all the messages and saving them to your computer as images and printing them out?
I think you press the Home button and the lock button at the same time to save screenshot.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

You could copy and paste conversations into notes? I'm pretty sure iCloud then backs up notes (itunes does too I think). Bit time consuming, but if you are going down this track, it may be worth it.

By the way, have you offered to let the errant builder re-quote? It is obviously underquoted so getting another quote will be a lot more anyway.

FWIW being a member of "Master Builders" is pretty meaningless, they seem to have very little interest in what their members do from 2 separate instances I've seen, and another fairly big-time builder I've spoken to has not had favourable words regarding their memberships.

Try calling from a phone whose number he won't recognise.

i cud put them to notes one by one, but then , yeah. time consuming indeed

now the thing with the builder is he has done a runner big time. in the sense that all of a sudden he doesnt answer calls, doesnt answer texts

basically he doesnt want to entertain me anyhow n he's offering a pityfull refund which i dont think anyway is fair

i have given him a offer , from which i can move on , despite its painfull to see all broken mess around my place

if he agrees ok, if he doesnt then i ll start the painfull process of collecting everything right from start what happened and what not and then would submit to small courts

n hopefully things would be alright. lets hope so.

If he's not answering his phone etc, then how'd he offer the "pitiful" refund?

Certainly sounds like the courts should be involved, preferably before he files for chapter 11.

after two days of absconding , avoiding texts, calls , ....he emails saying sorry he's not able to continue the job anymore as he cannot do it for the cost i wanted . I got shocked as to how can i person who quoted the job in the first place put the blame on me.

Sadly this kind of tradesman's attitude is not uncommon. He has obviously moved on to more profitable activities elsewhere.

What is the resolution are you aiming for? Is the $500 offered enough to have someone else complete the work?

well the whole job was for eight k .... he has taken five k advance n to my best knowledge he has done around 1.5k of work round about....  but he's only offering five hundred, which is unfair considering

- he forced us to get the stage 3 done saying that he ll then become too busy later
- he always got advance paid , n we always paid on the day he asked
- he just abandoned the project n no contact for around 2 days, when he said on text he will email that night whats happening and the third day he says he cant do it for the price...

but he claims as if he has done 4,5k of work...  what a piece !

question : can some one give me a small run down of what happens after someone files an application in the tribunal court.?

whats the process, when does hearing take place, do we have to hire a lawyer on that date, or do we speak for ourselves, what happens , as i am new so m not sure what actually happens.

thanks.

With the DT, you speak for yourself. There are no lawyers involved. You may want to go to the Citizens Advice bureau for advice.

What programme do you use to connect your phone to your computer?  I would have thought you would be able to sync your texts, photos etc to your computer through this programme.  I know I can with my phone, including backing up the all of phones content.
