I have a fine offset station, got it off 1 day a month or so ago.
It seem to work oks.

Have it plugged into my laptop, but about to move it to an old IBM, so I can take my laptop away.

I use Cumulas and have it upload to weather underground and also my own website.
I like the graphs that Cumulas provides.

Fine offset do appear cheap, but if they wern't I couldn't afford to have a weather station.

edit: Just found this http://weatherwiseinstruments.com/weather-station-mounts/weathersnoop-software.html software claiming to be mac compatible, cant say how good/bad it is though or what stations it is compatible with either.

I run a Davis vantage vue that has seen winds up to 110 kph. The vue has some trade offs against the pro, mainly that all the sensors are integrated. Davis don't raise this as an issue, and in reality if I was to buy a pro I would mount it the same way as a vue anyway. Think I paid $700 nzd for it but check out the prices on the Davis nz site mentioned above. You may be able to get it slightly cheaper at scientificsolutions.co.nz

All that said the vue gets used in storm chasing in the states, due to it's integrated nature so it will take a lot more that 110kph :-)

It's run into weather display, which I run on a pc, however there is a mac version also available. Think it's around 70 dollars but check out weather-display.com

I don't think there is a cumulus mac version available.

If you want some additional feedback from others using different solutions in nz, then try a post on www.localweather.net.nz

Cheers
