scuwp: I use a garden sprayer, and wear a mask and glasses, but never really had an issue. Try to create a barrier around the building and windows.

Sorry for another silly question, but do you spay inside or outside? I thought that the idea is to spray inside so that live insects do not stay in. But when you are talking about barrier around the building it sounds like it's outside.

scuwp: Ripcord.  Get it from any good hardware store.  Same stuff the pro's use (so I am told).  I spray our house every spring, all insects disappear and don't come back for at least 6 months.

But what about spiders, as per the OP?
