Jase2985: Where in auckland? if its manukau i have the fact sheets that relate to section placement and height in relation to the boundary

I'm in Albany.

Sounds like its above board then. Just hope firing up my pizza oven which sits right up against the fence isn't going to become an issue... At 850kg it ain't moving!

That all looks fine. The hight to boundary stuff is why so many houses have those silly little upstairs with massive downstairs layouts which means more roof joins etc for more cost. Yay for restrictions.

Although without them, many houses would be very overshadowed. Developers take advantage of restrictions, so if there weren't any, developers would push the boundaries to the very limit to maximize their profits. These restrictions do make building on narrow sites quite difficult.

Then depending if its a White Box with a number or a Colour with a letter it will be in one of these

Where we live there are restrictions where one can do Smokey stuff, basically if it annoys someone and they report it you can be in strife and even lose the device. It would pay for
You to check local regs.

insane:. They haven't built the house straight in line with the boundary, so it's probably more like 3m at one point, and 1.475. at the closest. It's a kitchen so I doubt they count that as a 'firewall'.

Depends on where the wall is with the hobs/ovens etc. Our kitchen wall is close to our boundary and is a firewall because that's where the ovens and hob are - and there are also rules around hole sizes for venting cooking fumes etc

Why would you have your pizza oven right next to your boundary? It does;t matter if your neighbours house is 1m or 3m away smoke blowing in their direction will annoy them.
