elpenguino: Do you actually want a set of T1-T99 + 100 other head sizes ? Or just a few dependables for the tool box?
If you buy the magic handle with 100 odd attachments you will find it annoying because they head gets stuck in the screw when you pull the handle off and then the little attachment falls off into the bushes leaving you wondering how you will finish the job.
Having been on the tools for many years I would rather say that you are better of with a few good quality screwdrivers than a 'set'.
What do you work on? No point paying for tools you dont use is there? If you want to , lets say, change some hinges then buy the screwdriver you need to do that particular job. Next time, get the right one as needed and so on.
You will prob end up with Pozi 2 for DIY , Pozi 1 for fiddling with gadgets and Sq 2 for DIY. Slotted screwdrivers are needed for legacy jobs but I would never choose slotted screws for a new job myself. They way they fall off the screwdriver is a right PITA !
Length: standard is fine almost all the time. Once again, if you are working on the car or whatever and need a stubby, go buy the stubby, otherwise dont bother.
I am still using tools i bought 25 years ago - buy decent ones and try to stop people 'borrowing' them.
I just bought a small Wiha slotted the other day from an electrical wholesaler - cost $16 with some trade discount - not cheap but I am sure it will last better than the fuller ones which are made out of cheese.
In terms of what I really need:
2 decent FH of different sizes
2 decent PH of different sizes,
POZI 1 and 2 (I guess since everyone talks about them)
1 x Square
2 Stubbies, PH and FH
I don't want to have to run to the store every time I want something standard that most people use. Hence the set.
I want comfortable and tough. No one will borrow my tools.
Also Magnetic Heads.
