When we had a flood (water pipe failure), Our insurance company (State) sent out a commercial cleaning company (Jay's) ASAP with commercial sized fans and dehumidifiers to dry the house.

They lift carpets to dry under them, and take away rug's and mats to dry at their premise. They use moisture detectors to check the moisture content in walls etc, and relay, and commercially clean affected carpet once it is dry.

Pretty good service.

We also had some flooding in the heavy June/July rain. With AA Insurance in our case, similar process commercial cleaning company to dry and clean. Loss adjuster to check if there was additional other damage.

Insurance only really covers repair not prevention in this type of situation.

The opening poster may be able to get the school to do some drainage but should also be looking at their doing their own drainage. Digging a 200 wide by 400 deep trench and installation of sump/pit and drainflo is actually very easy and very effective. Heaps of guides on youtube (Americans call it French Drain).
