joker97: There are no "energy efficient" alternative tube bulbs are there?
I have bought a few LED replacements for halogen tubes, they have all been dim as, and some were much larger and would only fit in the exteriour floodlight type fittings. The smaller ones had no driver, so had unacceptable 100Hz flicker like those retro looking filament lamps do.
Had the same problem here, some cretin had put in R7S bulbs that had generated so much heat they'd carbonised the insulation back up into the ceiling. The solution is quite simple, replace them with an LED or CFL, you'll get the same light output at a fraction of the power and heat.
