None of the manuals give power ratings or usage and it is too difficult to move machines to read compliance plates etc

Washer & Dryer runs off a double adapter and Freezer off the other outlet. Quite often run washer & dryer together especially lately in this crappy weather.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
Ah, should have realised it was that simple! Yes it is connected to both the cold and hot taps, so presumably means it doesn't heat the water itself.
It actually may not be that simple. My LG front loader heats its own water but is still connected to the hot tap, and according to the manual it heats its own water in some operating modes. It is unclear when it does or doesn't draw hot water from the tap.
However if your machine is a top loader then you can be pretty sure that it will exclusively use the hot tap when it requires hot water.
We have both of our running off a single point with an old double adaptor and had never even considered it might be an issue. Been like that for over 7 years, and I can only assume we've used them both at the same time at some point (although probably not a common occurrence for us).
Reading a lot of these comments it sounds like I should probably at least change it to a proper dual socket to remove the old adaptor from the equation.
Depends how long the thing is heating for. If you do a cold wash it will only be heating for a short time to get it up to 20 degrees so probably not long enough to bother anything. The amount of water in a front loader is minimal so doesnt take much to heat which is why they are so efficiant to do washes in compared to a top loader that has 10's of litres in it.
Washing machine is a top loader and does not heat the water, just takes it from the hot tap (although we do mostly cold washes any way).
