This whole asbestos thing is absolutely crazy. Coal dust is more harmful than white asbestos.

Hands up who as a 70's kid, DIDNT smash up some/lots of asbestos laden sheeting at some time. It was just dumped wherever or even
broken up and used as temp car/tractor paths across sections .
I knew 2 guys who worked in a NZ asbestos plant . One lived into his 70's , other still going at 70+

Saying that, I dont think I would want to take the risk if required to work on it or removing it as a daily job

Hmmm, I wonder if total replacement will be easier/cheaper.

A few years ago I replaced my 70'd decramastic roof with long-run colour steel to cure the myriad of small leaks. Me and my plumber mate did it ourselves. I had no idea that there could be asbestos in it.

The scrap metal merchant took all the old tiles (but didn't give me cash as most of the weight was not in the steel).

Edit: I bet there are a bunch of Chinese/Polynesian work gangs who fly under the radar and would remove the tiles off your roof for a good price.

I am going to get quotes to reroof as well , adding an extension made me think about the roof as the rest of the roof would need spraying the same colour as the new roof . The remaining roof is loosing a lot of chip which is ending up in the guttering. I have noticed the house down the road had there place done about 4 years ago is starting to look like it needs to be redone. Just an expense I didn't factor in the budget
