My $0.02 is on epoxy. We the garage and tractor shed growing up and it was really durable. We didn't really drag anything across it - used castors for frequently moved items and load skates for rarely moved items. The grey that Talkiet posted is a nice colour for a workshop.

Industrial lino as second option. I've seem lino used in dry areas in food processing plants where pallet trolleys are used by less than careful people and it stands up well.

All the stuff I've read says yes you will need to degrease first. See, for example, Resene Aquapoxy.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm now leaning toward epoxy. I've seen a few sites the suggest overcoating epoxy with a urethane/polyurethane for additional abrasion resistance and increased UV protection. Anyone done that?

I hate carpet. There was carpet here, I ripped it ou. Covered in oil, filthy and collects leaves and dust and stuff. An insane idea unless your garage is actually some kind of playroom or storage.

Tiles - made of what? I'd say concrete is tougher.

Paint, well that could work, easier to maintain.

Plywood, it's not as tough as people think.

I'd personally just either clean the concrete or ignore it.

It's a garage, you park cars in it, you do manly things in it, you make a mess in it. It's supposed to be grubby.

Sweeping it works just fine for sawdust, and misc crap.

Why do people think it's supposed to look like the house?

Feedback from a friend with the clip together square plastic things is pretty negative as they have gaps and fill up between them and if you drop a screw and it goes into the holes its pretty bat to fish back out. Some of the solid looking ones might be ok but I am worried about spilling solvants and having the floor dissolve.
