Journeyman:

Maybe just install something like a small cat-flap in your front door, 1.5m off the ground?

I've got one of those, and apparently it's capable of signing for deliveries, or at least one delivery confirmation was signed "Cat flap".

If the courier can get a parcel in, a thief can get it out.

May be a bit of a fiddle but if determined.

Why not just get stuff redelivered say to work address or relative or friend home during day.

Or go get it from the depot.
