I would suggest boot lace ferrels rather than soldier, also purhaps a rising cage terminal block to interface connections between the contr3and battery.

I used solder because the wire was really big with heaps of strands and difficult to get into the controller. That's the wire that the solar place supplied. I can try to get a terminal block and pieces of wire, I guess I need one that can take big wires and small wires. I'd probably buy from ebay or similar, buying from NZ you tend to pay 10X more. Suggestions welcome :)

 

I think now I've taken the strain off the controller by putting the wires under the battery it should be better. Obviously it'd be better again if I screwed the controller down and clamped the wires that would work better, but again I'd have to find the stuff for that.
