We have that 403L fridge, except it has a handle and is left hindged as it’s the only fridge made that fits in the stupid place the previous owners made for a fridge when they redid the kitchen
Anyway. Can’t complain, does the job of cooling and freezing products without issues
I've always had good experiences with F&P appliances, very pleased with what I have now. A friend has a Haier fridge and the water dispenser turns off about 1 second after a take my glass away leaving a puddle on the floor everytime (plus it has a large ugly temp display on the door that just seems crass)... I don't have this issue with the F&P
Haier is F&P. Had a real battle with F&P over a Haier vertical freezer that died 6 months out of warranty. Noel Lemmings had to really put the hard word on them to replace it.
Yes but it doesn't make it Haier, there is still a clear difference.

I wouldn't touch Bosch with a 50 foot pole. They were a nightmare to deal with for after-sales service and it took threats of legal action to get a resolution. I have an Electrolux Fridge and probably wouldn't buy that again either as we have had 2 one replaced under warranty and the other with 2 faults since new the fix for which is duct tape over the lower vege bin to keep it from freezing veges in the bin.
I don't have recent experience with other brands of Fridge. We have a Bosch Washing machine. It cleans well but the rubber gets "mouldy" and needs to be replaced every few years which isn't cheap. We wouldn't buy another. Front Loaders are more efficient and more gentle with clothing but it takes much longer to run. Samsung have some new units we looked at a while ago which are much faster and you can add stuff to the load once it starts, something my wife was unnaturally excited by :)
personally i wouldnt go near a F&P fridge/freezer ever again , they rely on the trust they have built up over the years but their products are no where near what they used to be in quality and price. my opinion on the last few F&P products i have bought, all had to be fixed under warranty.
I am echoing this and am onto my second new appliance in under one year of having them that I’ll be getting a refund on. The first one took six months (!!) to get sorted (dishwasher) and I’m now a couple of weeks into my washer dryer refund debacle. My friend had a similar issue also from new on his washer dryer and is still battling it months later.
You’re really making a mistake if you buy F&P these days with the aftercare. Go take a look at their website and you’ll see that you’ll be waiting 3+ hours just go get a call through, only to have them ignore your issue and just want to get you off the phone.
For what it’s worth I have that fridge also. Got it from a clearance day at the HN Outlet store in Christchurch and negotiated the price down to circa $1200~. I would never pay anything close to the RRP for F&P as they have huge markup and given the reliability I have found with them.

Interesting, we never experienced that. Did they tell you why it got Mouldy?
Im not sold on a Bosch fridge.
The Dishwasher is superb though, leaps and bounds over any other I have had.
Bosch isnt Germany's leading brand though, its a bit like a VW, or Holden or Ford or Toyota etc, everybodies vehicle.
Miele would be the next up but its not worth the extra money over F&P 403l, as somebody said it keeps things cool and frozen which is all you really need from a fridge. I didnt consider the ones with all the gadgets and android functionality. I just think its an extra thing to go wrong.
The 403l is a bit like a Subaru Outback or Toyota Camry, been going for a long time and has had many happy owners.
Washing machines, I will never own a top loader, I value my clothes, the Mrs is even more forceful on the subject. A little internet reading will explain the obvious problem with top loaders. In saying that, if it was for work wear, I wouldnt care, in fact Id rather not harm my washing machine with clothes haha, horses for courses. And top loaders are cheap and do the job. If I was in my 20s/30s Id prob buy a top loader.
At the time of buying our panasonic 8.5kg it was the leading model, but for some reason the 10kg had issues the other models didnt. Go figure.
I hadnt considered samsung, I shall do now though.
So Haier is FnP, well that may work out as the Haier front loader is cheap and seems to get high 4s in the /5 ratings around the net. Which surprised me as I thought they were cheap so must be junk. Something affordable actually doing a good job is rear.

We have a lower end Bosch front loader, wife loves it. We give the seal a quick wipe with an old cloth after each wash and leave the door ajar for it to air out. So far it's been fine.

Exact same situation, designer kitchen, high end granite, my fav thing is the end of the tap pulls out like a normal snake tap but goes back to looking like a normal 360deg tap. But despite all the lovely soft touch features etc, they designed what I consider a rather small space for a 3/4 bedroom home. and the old kitchen (along with the house) was only 5 years old and perfectly fine, id have changed to stone top myself and I understand wanting an Island, but could have done things a lot cheaper. The Mrs thinks its all awesome, but I see it as a place to put and eat food. Blah.
like you I need a left hand hinged fridge, others do so, but most do charge for it.
have you used the insta bottle chill thing, wondering if it does chill bottles fast? and the fast freeze sounds useful.
the only feature on other fridges I would have liked is a non plumbed water cooler, i filter the water so would have been one less thing in the fridge. I could put one plumbed to the sink I suppose.
those hot summer days after exercising etc where you could neck a 2l coke bottle (if it wasnt so bad for you haha), having ice cold water on tap is handy.

Yes wiping the seals is part of maintenance, I thought that was the norm too or at least was told to, I leave mine open as well. clearly not so much that the door can get damaged. Perhaps Networkn that might help? Ive never had that issue with a Bosch or any brand either....
We got that one - was a bit dearer at the time. Think we paid just over $1000 but that was a good price at the time.
That was on special for $739, I said to the Mrs about it. But she wants 10kg minimum this time for sheets and the like which I do understand. But yeah thats a BARGAIN !
This 450l Haier is $1349, much cheaper than the 403l and more size, it has reverse door design I believe. A few newer functions. But it is a Haier, :-)
So I have 1cm either side, height 35mm, and the depth is about the same but I expect it to sit out about for ventilation, but is that 1cm either side going to cause issues?
