yeah like that. Not the cheapest but I had some around. No noticible drop with lots on the other end of 15m or so of it.

The delay affects the PWM dimming, so they turn on and off late compared to the source strip. Only microseconds but depending on the PWM speed it can make them noticibly brigher IME when down at the 1-3% end of things. With it on a dim aqua colour the difference in colour was massive after the repeater.

I don't think I can do that, I'll need 20m of the 4 thread cable. That's getting a bit unmanageable.

Any idea on how I can branch of the repeaters tidily?

Use pre-made clips like this to connect your wires to each strip - you're right, soldering a hefty cable to those thin tracks is tricky and ugly.

RGB will triple the current - but you've only got one positive strip, and I doubt it's designed for all three LEDs at full intensity simultaneously. If you're mixing a colour, it would be a mix of the three colours to varying intensity

No it doesnt triple it, single colour strips have the same style 5050 leds with all dies the same colour so same max current.

All controllers with the exception of those aweful first gen limitless ones will take all outputs to 100% duty cycle when on white - unless they attempt to correct the lousy red efficiancy which almost all cheap ones do not.

Ok - so it looks like abut 2A per strip on white, maybe slightly more.

So I think I can get away with 2.5mm cable which is much cheaper, easier to find, and best of all, will works with standard clips:

But it will now be another month before I can assemble it all. ah well.......

The amount of current depends on how many LEDs you have lit, and how bright. I found that I didn't need anywhere near full brightness for Xmas lighting purposes. 3.6A might be right for all the LEDs lit on full brightness, depending on how many LEDs per metre and whether they're RGBW.  I have a couple of 7m segments (5m+2m joined together, no injection) and that works OK.
