It's not quite that straight forward, you as the homeowner can't put the power point in as it's a switchboard. No RCD's there so the outlet will need to be protected by an RCD circuit breaker - you can't just put in an RCD power point as the RCD has to be where the newly added wiring starts which would be at an existing circuit breaker or a new circuit breaker.

I as a homeowner can put power points wherever i like, add things to switchboards, new main earth, new mains if i want to.

I do things like that for friends, family and friends of friends all the time, its only three wires, what could possibly go wrong.

sounds like a bit of a troll to me ;)

@gregmmc

Whilst i agree you don't bite.....the last sentence is a concern if that's not a troll.  Solid admission of guilt! or bravado......whatever.  If your D(#k measuring compelled you to state you have done this at other properties that you do not own...... i hope they have an inspection done soon by someone qualified to verify their safety at the very least

Based on a few previous answers, yes it was a fairly obvious wind up.

Among other things, I've seen TV coax stapled to the weather boards...

I'll have you know that cable is professonally tacked using a Rapid R36 cable tacker. And genuine monel or stainless fixings.

Stapling is what teachers do with paper for children. 😄

Meh, you don't even need two, just one is fine. Return is via the nearest metal pipe.

That's for girlymen. Real installers use a brad nailer and aim between the blue and brown wires.

You laugh, but i have actually seen this, oh, except it wasnt good quality speaker wire, it was tiny nasty stuff that when i unscrewed the power point from the wall fell out of the terminals.

Lucky the homeowner didnt use anything more than a phone charger in that outlet before the reno started.

No need for a pipe. If SWER works for the power company, it should work for a caravan.
