I purchased the 100m range SNDWAY brand from Aliexpress in mid-2017. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32685624914.html

I have tested it myself against their claimed 2mm +/- and it was typically accurate to +/- 1mm if you can get it steady enough. I use it regularly both indoors and out. Everything from renovations and decking, to some volunteer work-related things. 

It uses AAA batteries which makes it easy.  I would happily buy again if it died.
