Nice, ... does the water running straight off the roof without guttering annoying if you are inside it in the rain, or is it mainly for fine weather.?

I've not really noticed any annoyance with that, so apparently no...
For the front deck can get a bit wet entering during heavy rain, but generally the roof for that section is small enough that you don't get much rain. If we were doing it again I might extend the roof a little bit to reduce the amount the ends up hitting the deck when the rain comes in at an angle.
It wouldn't be hard to add gutters and a water barrel or similar to collect the water but just haven't got around to it yet.

Good on ya, thanks for sharing, looks amazing, well done!
Yeah, I'll probably get a rain butt from rainharvestproducts.nz and some gutters.
Sanders cabins do look good - but why are their prices so crazy - all the 10 SQM cabins are fair amount, then you go to 15 SQM > $37 K
If the cost was more reasonable for the 15smq one, I'd go with that.... but really - 24K for an extra 5sqm !!!
Make sure you do your own research. ie: Piles are H5 not H3 as mentioned in an earlier post. Also use of stainless fixings if building is under certain distance from ground.

That photo makes it look like that area gets fairly parched in the summer, you could add cheapie guttering (easy enough to clean out at that height if leaves from the trees get in it) and downpipe behind the cabin into a rainwater butt for summer watering, they start at under $100 if you don't mind a relatively limited capacity. A better option if you can tuck it behind those bushes on the right is a 1000L IBC caged tank, also often findable for around the $100 mark.

It seems like the price has gone up ~25% since we ordered our one in 2019.
We added a couple of extra features like double glazing and additional windows and it was cheaper than there current loft + interior + insulation package...

Yeah had been considering a bigger system for the main house this summer, but the sleepout would be a cheap and easy starting place to test things out on. Must remember to follow that up this weekend and sort out what we'd need for a test run.
