When I did a bath at our last house I sealed the wall bath gap before fixing the lower strip for the wall seratone. The curved bit covered the silicone and kept it out of sight. If the shub hasn't been sealed to the wall your problem is getting at that gap without further breaking bits off the pvc moulding. Probably all you can do is fill the space and wipe off the excess.

Oh, the idea was to strip it off, wash the area underneath, possibly with meths if there's residue there, and then apply new moulding as per the Seratone instructions.  Looks like a simple enough DIY job, I'm just worried there may be some special steps to be taken that I'm not aware of, or if a tradie came in they'd just do the same as described above, clean off the original, lay down a line of silicone, press on the moulding.

If that was what was on there it would indeed be tricky.  Since what is on there is practically falling off by itself, I don't see much of a problem with that part.
