richms: Same costco tablets

Even so, I'd try a powder if you have one, and use as much as fits well, at least the first time.

johno1234:[snip]  The kids appear to just pour a bucket of dishes into the machine and press start. Their wash sucks.

richms:

Just got around to using the $300 one in earnest as the hot glue repair on the old ones plastics has come off for the last time. I had run a couple of test goes with it to check that it was functional but with its location its not easy to load.

Noisy as. The back is just a single layer of metal, so it sounds like someone pouring a bucket of water over rocks the whole time its running.

And its cleans badly. I put in a normal load for me which included the bottom tray from the combo airfryer/oven thing that had 2 premium patties worth of beef fat in the corners of it.

The end result was everything was covered with a thin layer of beef fat. Same costco tablets, and its plumbed into hot water as that is all that works over in the old laundry area at the moment so no problems with it not dissolving stuff. I wasnt stupid enough to use any eco option on it.

Also its drying abilities are worthless.

My experience wiht the Comfee washer I have from Tradedepot is that it washes really well. Noisy yes, but can't complain about the wash. Certainly better than my dad's 2005 era Simpson and better than the Electrolux one I used to have (although i guess Simpson and Electrolux are essentially the same brand).

Certainly try a good dishwasher powder (Finish / Active) instead of a tablet/ pod.
I pretty much only use the eco option and have no problem with it. Only use the pot option if I have some pretty crusty stuff that I am worried about.

Tounge in cheek here…

for real or ragebait? (Regarding the air fryer tray)?
- Isnt this what the “heavy” or “pot wash”, modes are for?

the only time we have issue is when we haven’t quickly cold rinsed or wiped obviously heavily soiled items or left it full and sitting all day before turning it on…

Not drying and leaving fat on airfryer tray both sound like the water temperature never gets hot enough.

There are some things it just ain't worth skimping on. Dishwashers are one of those things.

It has neither of those, there is the normal intensive one, a eco one and 2 other less good ones.

I am thinking that it might not be pumping out properly as I have done both extend the drain hose (by 2m) and have it right at the 1m height, both that the manual say are ok. I can chop the upstand that the washing machine went into down if I move the stuff in the way and see if that helps it out.

If it's not emptying fully it should have a level sensor stopping the cycle.

We've got the Panasonic one a few years ago. It does what it says on the tin, no real issues other than when people stack tall stuff in front of the detergent outlet and it won't spring open.

We leave it in auto programme and it handles everything our family of 5 throw at it.

It may not be the quietest dishwasher out there, but for $800 you don't expect it to be.
