The flow rate from the chilled/filtered water dispenser on our F&P RF610 fridge is very slow. About 900ml/min. Thinking about setting up two filters in parallel but not sure if the filter is the problem or if the fridge itself has a flow limiter. After all if the water passes through too quickly it won’t chill.

Doesn't that fridge have its own internal filter? When was it last changed?

The filter is external on the water line in. Previous filter changes haven’t made a noticeable change in flow rate and I w wouldn’t have thought Auckland water would have much suspended material in it to clog it up.

I just tried setting the kitchen tap to a flow I'd accept into a glass from a fridge and it turned out to be about 2L/min. You'd have to know the flow rate of the filter cartridge to know if it is the limiting factor. Other things mentioned are kinked  hoses or possibly the clamp on tap used in some cases. At 900ml/min I'd be testing the water tube into a bucket to measure the flow without fridge and possibly trying fridge without filter.

The problem is that I dont recall the last time I filled a glass with water to drink, its always a drink bottle that is around a litre. Even 30 seconds to fill that is far too long.

welcome to the world of water saving taps. they are all slow. which is why pot fillers are a thing.
