So you would support the denial of tax payer funded medical treatment to anyone injured in a bicycle accident who was not wearing a helmet

That funding would be via ACC not "The Taxpayer".
If you want to pursue that route, then forcing compulsory registration of all bicycles, including payment of an ACC levy would be the result, but we'd also need to make it compulsory to register skis and snowboards, horses, stiletto shoes.  All cats should be de-clawed, dogs fitted with rubber dentures, cigarette lighters made "adult proof", and introduce compulsory blood alcohol limits before use of a frypan.  Would you like some more non sequiturs to add to your collection?

You forgot making rugby a non-contact sport...

ACC is funded by Tax payers, be it levies and other add on charges such as vehicle licence fees, it is funded by the greater community.

But thanks for adding reductio ad absurdum to your post

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

That reminds me that I don't know anyone who has died from falling from a roof but I knew people who have died from falling at ground level. Do I need to be more concerned about that?

Oh boy, I think I need to lie down, right away.

Death costs the taxpayer less, so no need to worry.

Ground level is usually the big problem no matter where you start from.

I caught part of an ad for The Kowhai Guys a national roof cleaning/recoating franchise. No visible protection as he walked about waterblasting. Their website is similarly littered with shots of them just standing about on roofs.

Probably old stock shots before new standards came in.
