timmmay: I've used builderscrack but I'm not recommending it any more. When you award a job to a tradesman you have to rate their workmanship and performance, before the job even starts. I contacted them about it and didn't get a reply. I left a comment on their blog and it says "awaiting moderation". So all in all it seems to be abandoned, or at least very poorly designed and supported.

Looks like they are still going, because after visiting their website, I am now getting their google banner adverts appearing. I think the nocowboys website is another one of these websites that rates tradesmen.

I sent it as a pm as I hadn't asked the guy if I could post his number online, if anyone wants I can pm you his name and number. I can also recommend a plumber, a cripple and a flooring contractor. All highly experienced, NZ trained. They might not be the cheapest but they won't rip you off (two of them are family members)

timmmay: They estimated 4-6 weeks but it took 8. I didn't have a breakdown of each trades cost as we used a firm to do it. You don't want to know what it cost.

Sounds like my neighbor's bathroom. There were a lot of days when no work was done at all. The loss of continuity led to mistakes, the worst being the bath waste was left disconnected.

Pretty sure the plumber I recommended to you can do waterproofing (as can most plumbers). Some tilers can as well

By the way, we decided to change our shower type preference, from a framed shower to a frame-less shower. So if anybody is looking for a 1000mm by 1000mm, 2-sided, chrome frame with a side contour liner (comes with free waste!) shower, we are selling one. Also comes with an acrylic tray. It was bought here and was bought at the end of October last year. Was looking for around $850 for it, and you must organise pickup from West Auckland please.
