richms: Check the way it feeds the line out, I have a ryobi one+ 18v that spits a bit of line everytime you stop it, so you either have to hold it on for way more than you need, wasting battery, or else have it wasting the line. Very annoying.

I too once lived in the nightmare that is bump feeding until I found Littl' Juey. (http://www.littljuey.com/) So much better than the bump feed.

I notice the Ryobi has a 1.3MAH Battery at 18v

Our current batteries are 1.7MAH and don't last that long, I think 15 minutes when they were newish, MAYBE 20.

Would it be that these last only 10 minutes?

they have different versions depending on the shape of the shaft. cant see why it wouldn't work.

I'm looking at the same strimmer as I have a number of one+ devices, but I've got 2 x 2.5ah batteries... If you can find the wattage then you can get an approximation of how long a battery will last... I haven't so far...

ive used little juey, I find that the line breaks prematurely on my black and decker line trimmer. I don't know if I would buy it again.

Yeah their batteries are interchangeable, so you can use the 5AH batteries in a drill that is supplied with a 1.3AH or vice versa... Obviously if it supplied with the larger battery then you can be sure that it will suck the smaller battery dry quicker :-) I like the system as I can get lots of different useful tools for little bits of house work but keep only one battery charger.

No less than 10 minutes under heavy conditions, and not more than 25 minutes under optimal. 15-20 is the "normal range". This according to Ryobi who I just called.

Ah = run time the bigger the Ah the longer the run time generally speaking, some tools need the bigger Ah as they are more powerful and will overload the battery

get twin pack of the 4Ah batteries and a charger, I believe they do it as a combo.

Well yah, but I'd expect that weighs considerably more than the 1.3MAH and therefore hardly ideal to fit in a drill for example?

In case it's not clear, I am trying to work out a cost effective least items way to get into the system I want, in a way that is compatible and practical for all my requirements.
