Starscream122: If the mount I buy does tvs up to 65” and my tv is only 40” will i see the mount coming out the sides once it’s on the wall?
reven:
this is the wall mount I use on all my tvs (2x 2017 sonys 55" and 65", lg, samsung, veon). I get them because
- theyre cheap $19.90
- they are very close to the wall but not too close I cant plug in a power plug
- they are small, only requiring 2 holes in the wall
- very easy to level
- very easy to put the tv on and take it off (ive wall mounted 55" tvs by myself with this one)
- very secure
- since only a single bar easy to place around power sockets etc (the big bulky ones can be a PITA).
- using these on 40" all the way up to 65" (have a smaller version for my sons 32")
Ive gone through a few different wall mounts (I have about 5 in boxes here of different brands) and now always just get this one.
your tv has standard VESA screw holes in it, take 5 minutes to mount.
I've brought this one now. opened the box. don't know where to start!
Would I be best getting a builder in?
theres basically 4 parts to it.
theres a bunch of screws in the box, this is to cover all differnt tvs (different tvs use different screw sizes when attaching the arms). theres a bunch of different screws for attaching it to the wall.
I recommend
out of all of that the hardest part, is just finding the stud and decided the height you want the tv. the rest is very simple. I wouldnt get a builder in, unless you have a local one that doesnt charge much. Like I said, its a 5 minute job, and only requires a drill, level, and is very easy to do.
same principal as this one, but a lot easier, less bolts, easier to attach
I tried to mount the 2 hooks on the tv to start with and I think they are too long for my tv and the hooks are going to be visible from either the top or bottom I don't think there's going to be a middle ground they are just too long and the holes on the hooks don't match up with the back of the tv. I don't own a drill or a level! my friend did one with a screwdriver do you think I could?
Ok.
My mum told me she doesn't want holes in the walls!
So case closed I will return to the shop to get items refunded.
Thanks everyone for your help!
At the risk of thread hijacking, what are you peeps doing with cables to your TV? I'm looking to wall mount soon and I want to build a cable tube into my wall to hide the cables rather than surface mount some capping.
I know I could use electrical conduit but I think I need some kind of tube system with nice corners and entry points where it meets the gib board.
Is there anything specfic available ?
