Its on suspended sale at the moment, so they wont order one in for you. They couldnt tell me if it would be back or not as is typical with bunnings. No idea what they sell or when they will sell it.

I have now got the need to cut some ply that I have already painted with gloss paint, so the grippy thing on the track doesnt want to grip enough to stop it moving. Went to use the supplied clamps with the rail and they did the job - barely. Flexing too much so that the screw is then at an angle and it starts to move the track when tightened.

Looking at banggood they list some track saw rail clamps that look better, but has anyone got them or any similar ones that may work better than the flexing ozito ones?

Richard, you would have to make sure that they are wide enough to lock into the slot under the rail.

The Toolshed rail is a clone of the Makita rail. I think Ozito is that same?

Does anyone have any updates on the guide rails for these? The AU Ozito site still lists the 1.4m ones but the links to both the AU and NZ Bunnings pages are 404, and it's a real pain trying to cut 2.4m sheets with 0.7m clip-togethers. I'm hoping they're clones of someone else's stuff, probably Makita since they're what everyone else seems to copy.

And if you look at the prices in Europe or the US for these things you'll want to cry...

PLSTA-14 is available and in stock in our NZ warehouse.

It's $55 in Australia so shouldn't be more than twice that here, which still makes it cheaper than even the cheapest Makita-clone track.

The Toolshed 1.4m rail is on sale at the moment: https://www.thetoolshed.co.nz/product/7461-toolshed-guide-rail-1-4m-to-suit-toolshed-plunge-cut-saw ($109 to save you the click - which is right on your "double the Australia price" rule of thumb). This is a Makita clone - not sure if you ever got an answer to whether or not the Ozito worked on Makita rails or not.

No, neither here nor on Oz forums where I've asked. I'd prefer to get the Makita if it fits because one of the raised bits is a T-track that you can get Makita router jigs for while the Ozito solid raised bit in the same position doesn't seem to serve any purpose, the saw never contacts it.

I didn't measure especially carefully, but I'd say 182mm wide.

That looks very much like a Makita, only obvious deference is that they have two glide strips instead of one, but the profile looks like a Makita.

Went to a nearby Bunnings and had a closer look at the Ozito rails, they don't look like the Makitas:

The second slot looks a lot higher than the first one, and it looks like the saw clips under the second slot while with a lot of the Makita clones it only covers the first slot.

That's the bad news. The good news is that it's around $68, about half the price of even the cheapest Makita-clone equivalents, so there's no point in trying to find any alternatives.

Then the bad news again is that they've been waiting for stock for around six months with none appearing, and no idea when they'll get more. If anyone wants to back-order some, the SKU is 6290616.

I know their system isn't reliable but Takanini is shown as having stock and Porirua low stock.

How do Bunnings have no stock if Ozito NZ do? It's not as if they have other retail outlets.
