yeah good luck enforcing that.  As an example to stupidity i think everyone here will have a story of a cleaner plugging a vacuum cleaner or even tradies plugging power tools into a UPS under an office desk.  That's not to say someone will or won't do similar in a domestic situation with a multibox.

Not cascading powerstrips is one of those ideas floated by someone with no real world experiance. If I was to not cascade them I would need a hell of a lot of 8 or 12 outlet ones, and a lot more wall outlets for them. 22 things need power just by the TV in the bedroom.

What everyone is failing to realise is that it's not all about the risk from overloading. 22 devices beside your bed?  POIDH or you need to find a better way (like try using your bedroom for sleep?). I've seen so many of them fail it's just not funny and frequently result in ashen faces abound.  Don't rely on that poxy little breaker that the power strip might come with either.
