To confirm, the bubble appears to disappear after the shower has stopped (can take an hour or so).  It's not visible as best we can tell after a few hours. 

Can't see obvious bowing or shaping problems on the ceiling. 

I'll try showering with and without fan and come back to you.

No water pipes into the ceiling to the best of my memory only the fan ducting.
