i had a similar problem that was caused by having 12mm hose fittings with a 13mm hose! obviously, yours could be a different case altogether.

Thanks - do you have a link? The one that came with the M10 clamp is leaking rust colored fluid after being outside for 48 hours.
From the clamp or the barb fitting!?
Pretty poor to supply a hose fitting (by definition: external use) with a non-stainless clamp.
Probably even worse to supply a hose fitting that isn't brass!
Stainless steel hose clamps are really common. The worst failure I've had is a bit of tea staining from (presumably) cheap stainless. Immediate rusting and I'd take it back (assuming you can be bothered having a fight).
The best hooe fitting I have come across, is one that was actually crimped onto the hose. The annoying thing about the plastic ones is that they just slip off over time, and the little teeth break. The stainless straps that you tighten are fine, but they can have sharp edges that can slash you hand if not installed well.
SirHumphreyAppleby:
A search on AliExpress returns plenty of 'Oetiker' clamps and tools if you want to try a cheaper alternative. I can't comment on quality, but they do offer stainless clamps which is what you'd want for any outdoor use.
I opted for the ClampTite instead, and intended to try the Oetiker clones if that didn't work for me.
Thanks - looks expensive to get the tool and clamps.
tripper1000:
Your hose might be stretched out and no good anymore. As they stretch, not only do they too big in diameter to seal onto the fittings anymore but the side-walls get thinner. It should be a fairly tight fit between the hose and the tube on the fitting that goes up inside it. If it's loose, that will be a major contributor to the problems. As someone pointed out above, a nice tight fitting new hose might even necessitate softening in boiling water to get it onto the fitting.
It's the other way - too small rather than too large. The slightly larger hose seemed to seal better.

From the clamp. Might just be I dropped it in something already, because really I don't think anything could rust that quickly. It has a 4 year warranty, and I'm great at keeping receipts and copies of the packs ;)

I suspect this could be the problem. I didn't know there were different sizes...

Thanks for all the advice. I've made a few changes and things are working a lot better with no leaks at all from any part of the system most of the time:
