I only replaced the Dishwasher (casualty of fixing the leak) with a $500 one from Trade Depot and the and the bench mounted stove top which was part of the kitchen order from bunnings
Wall mounted oven, extractor fan and fridge were new a few years before so kept them.

$30K included these, kitchen cabinets, sink, taps, tradies, flooring and materials, disposing of old kitchen etc.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your thoughts!

“Do you want a kitchen that looks good only or one where you can cook, or do you want to have someone else do the cooking?„ 😁

I don't really understand the distinction between "you can cook, or do you want to have someone else do the cooking". I'm not sure I cook any different from anyone else...

That wasn't meant personally, but is a running joke here because more and more people no longer cook (or know how to cook). There are also people who hire a chef to come to their home, who then brings his own equipment and only uses the kitchen on site, e.g. for a large party or celebration.

Ah, ok. Because of migraines I need to eat good quality whole, unprocessed foods so I cook every day.

That's useful, thanks @MikeB4. M10 was one place we were going to talk to, but I would be wary about quality. Why would you advise against them?

We've been working with M10, we have two "local" stores and both do the design, I got the impression, that it was a back end design service that all stores use. They provide a 3d render.

There seems to be the M10 range, that is probably budget friendly, they also sourced from a company called Amorini that look better quality.

We've been frustrated by the fact that there isn't a price list, we've had to come up with the design and get it priced as a package, so we have had 4 or 5 changes of design repriced.

Our kitchen isn't big, but the design has 12 drawers, 2 slide out shelf units, a pantry and 8 cupboards, pricing was $11-15K for cabinets themselves, depending on small changes.

If you are needing appliances, I'd highly recommend you get onto the Black Friday sales, we are saving a couple of $K over and above a friends and family deal.

Interesting, thanks shanes. We're not at the point we could buy appliances yet, we would want to have a design first so we know what goes where. There's always going to be sales, though black friday is probably better than most.
