Thanks for that

would you benefit more from a bigger solar array?

and what direction does your array face?

- direction is on the picture - 54 degrees to the West from North

- more panels would be better - that's for sure. At the time of install they offered extra 2KW on another side (+90 to the current one) for additional $4K, but without knowing the stats we did not choose that option.

Ok cool thanks for that, mine would be 60 degrees west of north.

i think if you have batteries then maybe the more panels would be beneficial

Yours are 6 to the west from mine - not a big difference if the roof pitch is similar (mine ~ 22 degrees). We are at premises 24x7 hence can use solar during peak hours. 3kW not enough as you can see. And fully charged batteries is rare.

Solar Edge opened new string of stats to the interface from May - energy used from the battery. So now I can see what was used directly from the Sun and what - from the battery storage. That will be interesting to collect and analyze for another year. Perhaps will post new set of graphs from July going forward.

Anyone know what it would cost roughly, today in 2017 for a Tesla Wall or something equivalent and maybe a 2kw solar panel setup?

I will be in a 2 Bedroom Unit, with just the Mrs, Running a couple of PC's 24/7. Will have Gas heated water, with this in mind how much would I be able to avoid drawing power from a provider?

Depends where your panels will be installed. Best of course facing North. Our hot water is electric. And we do not have separate meter for it to exclude from the stats.

Here we go - total yearly stats have now been collected and published here:

http://www.hybrids.co.nz/our-solar-system/

I have not put there any NZD numbers. you can just multiply x 0.28$ and see that the savings p.a. were less than 1000 NZD.
