I ended up with the Ryobi RLM19E40H from Bunnings. I've only used if a couple of times, but here's my initial impressions:
- Fairly easy to put together. Don't forget to take the mulching plug out if you use the catcher, and screw the handles on pretty tight or they wobble.
- It's significantly more power than my older 1300W mower. It'll cut the grass all the way to the ground / root whereas the old one got stuck. Of course you shouldn't cut it too short anyway, but I have a bumpy bit that's a bit annoying.
- The catcher works pretty well, not quite as well as the old Victa Lawnkeeper electric, but fine. The catcher is a decent size which makes things easier, though it starts leaving some grass on the lawn when the catcher is only 1/2 full
- The cable system is quite good, so I don't need to hold my cord to stop it pulling out any more. There's a simple but clever system that you poke your cord through so if you catch the cord it doesn't put any strain on the power socket
- The two button system to start / use it is ok. I'll get used to it.
- Height is fine - i'm 5'6"
- Haven't tried it on wet grass yet - seems fine on dry though. If it's wet I just wait a few days usually.
