Our system is just over a year old, so price will be irrelevant, but production wise...:

23x Maxeon 425w panels with Enphase IQ7 microinvertors

Lifetime production (Mid July '23 till today, so about 13 months) 12.1MWh produced, 7.1MWh Imported, 6.2MWh exported. (We don't appear to have been capped to 5kWh per day... yet)

Best producing day in summer was 7 Jan this year - 70.1 kWh

Worst was June 14th this year - 2.9kWh produced (its was a really crappy wet day)

I am in Palmerston North, my roof is NE facing, and my word there is a lot of pollen about that's covering my panels!!

We went like this. he went like that. I say "Where'd he go?" Hollywood says "Where'd WHO go?!"

@WolfmanNZ, Interesting to note that January 7th set a record high for us here in Taranaki but we only managed 63kWh. We've had a few sub 3kWh days over the past few months too unfortunately. Can't do much about the weather.

Your self consumption is just over 52% so maybe some export monitoring tech is needed to avoid all that generation escaping? I'm guessing you don't have batteries but even a HWC diverter may improve things in this regard.

ok Lightforce got back in touch pulled the I 'll have to talk to the manager routine and knocked $5k off their 24 panel system (now $36,940) and also added a 21 panel system for $34,953

I'm not impressed with the used car salesman technique.

There are definitely plenty of cowboys in this industry at present. The popularity of solar as our electricity sector struggles with pricing and supply will only compound this situation. It is crucial to go into PV installation with your eyes wide open and with a wide list of questions to sort the men from the (cow)boys.

I don't know how self policing SEANZ is but our installer promotes this organisation on their website and the skill and honesty we received from them was exemplary.

Yes, they did this with me. I guess there are a lot of people that think "gee whizz, I'm getting a bargain, they must be such nice people." I'm afraid I'm the type of person that thinks "why were you overcharging me by $5k in the first place - you must be dodgy AF"

Interesting that is their technique, I guess it must work often. There are no end of solar companies out there though.

System hardware looks good but.

Each to there own but I would never reward a company if they pulled a sales tactic like that. If someone else provided the more honest pricing and similar or same product I want, they get my business..

That's not unique to them, I had that from 3 of the well known/advertised brands when I was making a decision last year. One of the other brands got so pushy with the guilt trip and the 'I thought we had this locked in', I ended up just blocking their calls.

We dealt with Harrisons in Hamilton. Looked at different options and said this is the best we can do for you at the moment. Was not pushy on anything. We have been very happy with them from the get go. Another company was not only pushy , but was expecting me to have my house wiring reconfigured for a single phase system. I also did not like the urgency of being in a rush to be making a decision on a substantial project. Since Nov1 23 to today, 10months almost, its produced 15.64mWh. Our highest single dsy is Jan1st 24. That was 116kwh.
Some installers like the ones that did our installation, several of their workers and the owners have solar systems themselves. I do like it when the ones doing the work have a system themselves.
Sometimes the manufacturer will have a promotion going as well that can be a substantial savings. I'm led to believe that PW3 is on an introductory offer at the moment.

ok had another quote in for a 7-8kw solar and PW3 for $32k and cancelled harrisons as they are ages off now

Have gone with world solar, 9.24kw+pw3 at $33k

Which considering what that thing would have cost 4-5 years ago is a crazy price

Thats a sharp price. What brand and size panels is that @RobDickinson? You will get the most efficient way of your charging your battery as panels would be connected directly to DC side of the inverter on PW3!

Did they say what is the availabaility to procure and install for PW3 in NZ?

440W LONGi Solar Hi-MO 6 Scientists. IDK they seem ok..

And yeah DC straight into the battery is good!

They said there was some supply of PW3 for a reasonably quick install if I got in quickly.
